A 5 Day Jumpstart

Do you set big goals with regards to nutrition and exercise at the start of a new week? Or maybe at the start of each month or maybe it's just your new year's resolution each and every year? "I'm going to lose x amount of weight, I"m going to go to the gym everyday, I"m going to take better care of myself"..........

Whatever the case, how is it working out for you? I'm guessing not great considering you're still reading. Well know that you're not alone! Too many times I've seen people with the best intentions after a few days or weeks start to falter and old ways start to creep back in. Why is that? 


For one........ if we don’t change our thoughts then we can’t change our life. What do I mean? Let me give you an example….. if someone commits to working out and eating healthier, their initial excitement about their end goal usually gets them to commit in those early days but what often happens is those nasty self-limiting beliefs we have about ourselves start to creep in and you find yourself saying things like “is this really going to work” “I’m not noticing any difference” “healthy eating is hard” “I’ll always look and feel like this” or if you ate something “unhealthy” you think things like “see I knew I wouldn’t be able to do this” “why did I eat that, I’m such an idiot” and on and on and on. Sound familiar? 


You see no matter how good our intentions are or whenever we want to change something in our lives we MUST change the pattern of thoughts we have around what we want to change. If we don’t those self-limiting beliefs we hold take over sabotaging even the best of intentions. But no more! This time we are going to add the missing piece into our wellness journey. Do you know what it is?...... You guessed it- MINDSET! 

Our external life is a reflection of our internal thoughts, think about that for a minute. Think of the power in that statement………One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, the same goes for your thoughts; if we think the same about ourselves day after day then nothing about ourselves will change. Remember if we don’t change our thoughts we can’t change our lives!


If you think of yourself negatively i.e. out of shape, no willpower, not enough, then no matter how much you work out or deprive yourself from foods you love you will always become what you think. That is one reason diets fail over and over and over again. People commit to the exercise and the restricting of foods, lose the weight, only to 9 times out of 10 regain it shortly afterwards. Why?.....Because they didn’t change what they truly think of themselves.


This is where our program will differ I want to support you in changing that internal story you tell yourself. How can we do that? By incorporating mindfulness and self-care practices into our daily lives. It won’t take a huge time commitment, but I do forewarn you it takes you DECIDING to think more positively about yourself!
